Realistically, you could spend a lot of time and money to look gorgeous every morning. On the other hand, you could choose to master a few of the basics and learn to create your own personal signature of beauty. Here are the three that will put your look over the top.
The Eyes Have It
Since your eyes are what people will focus on most, play them up, but on your own terms. For example, if you’re not comfortable with the dark, smudgy eyeliner look that’s common these days, opt for something lighter and less dramatic. The key is to complement both the color of your eyes and the tone of your skin. Try contrasting, if you’re not sure what the best color-combo is for your lids: Brown shadow on blue eyes, blue on green etc.
Pouty, inviting lips are all the rage, but don’t think you need surgery to get this look. Master the use of your liner, by starting with a color that blends with your lip color. Outline top and bottom, then fill in with a lighter shade. For extra glam, highlight with glittery gloss. Since mastering the ways of full, beautiful lips is so important, watch a video or ask your favorite salon to show you if you have difficulty on your own (as many do).
No matter where your tastes in cosmetics run, you always want soft, supple skin. From 16 to 106, dewy skin is gorgeous. You need just three things to achieve this coveted look: Water, high-quality moisturizer and a shimmering highlight powder. Always drink plenty of water — it’s no rumor that you need eight glasses every day, moisturize with a strong SPF, but natural ingredients and run the brush of your shimmering powder on the cheekbones around your eyes and up over the eyebrows. Don’t over do it; just enough to add subtle sparkle and glow.
Master these three aspects of beauty and you’re golden. The more you practice, the faster you’ll become and the easier it will be to accomplish the look you want every morning.
